Wednesday doubles are finished for 2010. Thanks to all who participated. Wed dubs restart Spring 2011.
NOTE: The park is now closing at 8 PM.

Registration is closed and the field of 90 is up one the PDGA registration page.
Online registration filled on Saturday night. Some tried to register after that and saw some spots were left. I'm told that was due to a refresh issue and some browsers load out of date pages to save time. If there are times in the future when you can't complete online registration, try hitting the refresh button.

Thanks to all who got in and those who tried. This is looking to be another great field of competitors. Lets just hope Earl stays away from our friends on the coast.

Three way tie for Sunday dubs won in playoff by Brad and Dan, and it was Dan's putt!
Two aces hit, Frank on #18 and Lee R. on #16.

Lots of news:
1. Brad Smith wins Advanced at Oak Hollow, Brian Jone ties for 20th. And delayed kudos to Henry Childres for T28th out of 145 Open Pros at the NT Vibram Open.
2. Nate Lane hit$  ace on #18 in Sunday dubs
3. Only 26 spots left in Hickory Classic. Online registration ends Monday, 8/30.
4. Tonight and 9/1 are last rounds of Wednesday dubs.
5. Big shipment of Innova discs just arrived for club sales, including custom stamp with UFO wing.
6. Holes have been renumbered 1 to 22. No more decimal holes!

Hickory Classic planning meeting next Wednesday after dubs. Only 6 spots left for staff volunteers.
Just 3 more Wednesday doubles events.

Big thanks to Brandon and ASR for the number decals on the baskets. Putting up new hole sign numbers and direction signs this week.

TWO aces at Wed dubs. Glen hit #6 and Kenny got #18. Brad and Dan won with a 15 down on 19 holes.
Only 4 weeks of Wed dubs left.

Twenty five particiapte in Ace Race and Glen is the big winner with 29 points. Nate D and Shawn for place and show. Larry wins special recognition as player with most points (9) without an Ace.

Thanks to Larry, Nate L, Richard V and Dan for working on hole 11.3. Fairway is now more fair and Nate L found a tee "pad" for us to use.

Basket installed on hole 11.3 (soon to be renumbered 15)
Flags mark tee pad. Play it and give feedback. Planning to pour concrete tee pad on 7/31/2010, so turn up for this important workday.

Good work day today. Pad cleaned, 11.3 fairway cleared and just about ready to play, and 11.3 sleeve installed. Tentative plan to pour teepad on 7/31.

Hole 7 basket is back in the short position and all 21 holes are open for play. Thanks to Richard, Freddy, and Dan for installation and refurbishment of the benches on 6 and 8.
Also thanks to Durant, Chris John, and Nate L. for clearing brush on hole 11.3. It can be played to the temp target (currently 302 feet).

4/26/2010WEDNESDAY DOUBLES ARE BACK AT HILTONStarting Wednesday, April 28, 2010, Wednesday Doubles are back at Glenn Hilton Park. Tee off is promptly at 5:30 PM, so show up by 5:25 to register. 

4/25/2010SUNDAY DOUBLES RESUME AT HILTONFourteen players took advantage of the break in the rain to compete in the first Sunday Doubles at Hilton since December 2009.                    

This site contains information about the 22 hole disc golf course in Glenn C. Hilton Park in Hickory, NC. The course is supported and maintained by the UFO (Unifour Flying Objects) Disc Golf Club.

The tournament is full. Thanks to all who registered or tried to do so.

Random draw doubles Friday, tee off at 5 PM.
Check-in Saturday 8:00 - 9:20 AM, player meeting 9:30 AM.
Format for 2010 is similar to last year. Rounds 1, 3 and 4 are 18 holes. Round 2 is Hickory Max (22 holes in longest pin placements, par 69). Custom wicking shirt in player pack for AMs.

Wednesday dubs ended Sept 1. Look for Wednesday dubs to return Spring 2011.

EVENTS

The club hosts two weekly events:

• Sunday Doubles 11 AM, random draw, captains's choice
• Wednesday doubles return in Spring 2011 

There are three annual events:

• The Hickory Classic, a B tier PDGA sanctioned event held the Labor Day weekend (this year Sept 4 and 5, 2010)
• The Ice Bowl is held in Winter as a charity benefit.
• The One Disc Ace Race is a special event using a prototype disc on shortened holes.
